read more about LMIA
Many people want to come and work in Canada. An LMIA Is one of the easiest ways to gain Canadian work experience and apply for permanent residency after. However, you need a job offer first.
Therefore, the best advice I can give you is to find an employer who will want to keep you in their organization and is willing to go through the process for you.
The LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment), is necessary before applying for a work permit and is solemnly based on the employer.
What is LMIA? Is is the process where Jobs and Social Development Canada (ESDC) evaluates a job offer to ensure that hiring a foreign worker would not negatively affect the Canadian labour market.
Employers are asked to offer a range of details about the job they are offering to a foreign worker, such as:
- The amount of hours foreign works need to work
- The number of Canadians who applied for the job
- The number of Canadians interviewed
- The reasons why the Canadian candidates were not selected
Lastly, you will get a confirmation letter (positive LMIA) .this will demonstrate that no Canadian worker or permanent resident is available for the role. After all of this the worker can now apply for a work permit. Which employer can apply for a LMIA?
- Legitimate business
- Able to pay salary to foreign workers
- Employer is in serious need of a foreign worker
- Provides either goods or services to the public
- Employer has not laid anyone off in the 12 month period before the application process
