THE FRANCOPHONE MOBILITY PROGRAM

The Francophone Mobility program allows skilled workers with French language skills to apply for a work permit in Canada if they have a job offer in Canada outside of the Province of Quebec.

 

Through the Francophone Mobility program, the Canadian government aims to support Canada culturally and socially as a bilingual and multicultural country.

APPLICANTS

GENERAL CRITERIA

The general criteria for you to apply for this program with us are as follows:


You must have advanced intermediate or high-level French skills, which means at least CLB5. If it is the case, and you can prove that you use French as your habitual language, on a daily basis, you do not need to provide a French proficiency test.

If you cannot prove that with your documentation, you would need to provide a TCF or TEF Canada test result.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Once we receive your application, our Office Manager will contact you to test your English and French speaking skills.

 

If you prove proficiency in English and French, then your resume will be reviewed by our partnered companies and, if your qualifications align with the position requirements, you can expect a phone-screening call from their HR department.

FAQ

 

It can take from 2 weeks to 5 months depending on the country of citizenship of the applicant. If the applicant is visa-exempt, they can apply for the work permit at the port of entry ( POE) and get it the same day. If the applicant is from a visa-required country, depending on the country, the online processing time is currently 3 to 5 months.

No, you can apply even if you live in a country where French is not normally spoken and your first language is any language other than French. You should, however, take the Test d’évaluation de français (TEF) or the Test de connaissance du français (TCF) to have your language abilities assessed. You will need to score CLB 5 for each of the four abilities: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

If you score CLB 5 or higher in French Language skills, you can get an additional 15 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

If you score CLB 5 or higher in French Language skills and CLB 5 or higher in English, you can get an additional 50 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

You can receive additional points in Express Entry’s Federal Skilled Worker Program ranking system for a second language.

Along with an employment offer, you can receive an additional 50 points (NOC 0, A or B) to 200 (NOC 00) points for arranged employment.

No, you can apply to the program either if you are living outside of Canada or if you are currently located in Canada.
