Canada is also known as the great white north, a multicultural mosaic with a beautiful landscape. Canadians are well-known for being well-mannered and highly respectful, unlike our neighbors. Every Canadian has one of these habits, and it’s what makes us who we are and why our country is so great in so many different aspects.
One of the most Canadian habits, It is the fact that we are overly apologetic; you will often hear us say “sorry” about everything, even if it has nothing to do with us. Otherwise, it would be impolite.
Walking on the right side, is another habit so do not dare walk on the left side. Some people won’t get used to people being so polite, but you will notice the vast differences from any other country once you arrive here. Canadians are overly friendly and helpful. One other Canadian habit is to tip your server, hairdresser, or other customer service worker except for retail workers.
Another Canadian habit you will notice is Canadians do not drink outside as other people do in so many different places worldwide. However, in Montreal, you can drink at a park if you are also having a meal, and the park has picnic tables. Bathrooms and toilets are called washrooms, something you will get used to when you come to Canada. Canadians have a great appreciation for coffee; they take it everywhere in a cup on their commute to work or when running errands.
