Super Visa application for your parents and grandparents supervisa enables Canadian parents and grandparents to come to Canada. Initially, they can enter for up to two years without renewing their status and can enter multiple times within ten years. This visa is available throughout the year and is an alternative to their Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP). They are reunited with parents and grandparents temporarily.
Due to the significant demand for PGP and the limited space, the supervision visa provides more protection for family reunions. This is particularly useful for citizens of countries that require a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) to travel to Canada because they do not have to reapply for a visitor visa frequently. Who is eligible for supervise? Parents or grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
You cannot enter Canada for health or criminal reasons, and you may have to meet other conditions set by the visa authority. The visa is only for parents or grandparents of Canadians. Spouses or civil partners can be included in the application for supervision, but relatives cannot be included.
How do I apply for a supervisory visa? 4,444 applicants must apply outside Canada. The supervision procedure is similar to the regular TRV procedure. Still, the Department of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship of Canada (IRCC) must ensure that parents and grandparents receive good support during their stay in Canada.
Some of these additional documents include signed letters from your Canadian children or grandchildren and at least $100,000 medical insurance provided by Canadian insurance companies. This letter must contain a commitment to provide financial support during the visit.
Canadians must provide proof and documents of citizenship or permanent residence status, and attach a list of their family members. Health insurance must be valid for at least one year from the date of entry.
The applicant must provide evidence that the insurance has been paid because IRCC does not accept quotations to obtain a visa.
The immigration officer will also check whether the applicant has left the country at the end of the authorized stay. In addition, according to the government website, they will investigate the applicant’s contacts with the country, the purpose of the visit, family and financial status, and the overall political stability of the country.
Immigration pathways for parents and grandparents The Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) enables Canadians to assist their parents and grandparents in immigrating.
This year, PGP applicants will be selected through a lottery in the week of September 20. IRCC will invite candidates to apply for PGP within two weeks. 30,000 invited candidates have submitted interest forms to sponsors between October 13th and November 3rd, 2020. The date of the next enrolment window is currently unknown, but it will be in 2022.
