Quebec has authority over Immigration

Quebec has authority over immigration, The federal government of Canada plays a key role in welcoming and settling immigrants across the country. Quebec, on the other hand, has greater immigration power than any other province. Refugee Immigration programs

Individuals may come to Canada under the refugee category or for humanitarian reasons. Refugees who have arrived in Canada in search of safety may apply for asylum and have their claims recognized by the Immigration and Refugee Board. Those who do not fit within the above categories but make a strong case on humanitarian and compassionate grounds may be awarded permanent residence status.
Quebec contributes to the protection of refugees and asylum seekers. In comparison to the rest of Canada, applications submitted for Quebec go through an additional phase of processing. Before sending the application to the federal government, Quebec will review it to see if the refugee may settle in the province. Every year, the Quebec, and federal governments.
